| Arquitecto e historiador de la arquitectura formado en la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Realizó estudios e investigaciones en diversos países europeos y americanos sobre la arquitectura de los siglos XIX y XX. Ha publicado numerosos artículos en distintos medios y dado conferencias en la Argentina y en el exterior. Entre sus libros se destacan «Buenos Aires, arquitectura y patrimonio», «Buenos Aires Art Nouveau», «Grandes Residencias de Buenos Aires». Integrante del estudio Báez-Carena-Grementieri, especializado en revalorización, conservación y puesta en valor del patrimonio cultural inmueble. Como tal, ha realizado proyectos y obras para organismos públicos y privados,
como el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, la Academia Nacional del Tango, el Alvear Palace Hotel, el Departamento de Estado Norteamericano, la Embajada de Brasil en Buenos Aires, la Fundación Getty, el World Monuments Fund y Villa Ocampo (UNESCO). |
| Architect and architectural historian graduated
from Universidad de Buenos Aires. He made research and studies on the architecture
of the 19th and 20th centuries in several European and American countries.
He lectured at prestigeous institutions in Argentina, USA, UK, France, Spain
and India and participated of many congresses on architecture and heritage.
He is professor and coordinator of the Preservation Program of the Universidad
Torcuato Di Tella. He published many articles in newspapers and specialized
journals as well as chapters in collective works. Among his books, Buenos
Aires landmarks is a milestone, and portraits the architectural heritage
of the city from the colonial period to nowadays. He organized the International
Conference Architectural Culture around 1900 that gave way to
the World Heritage Center (UNESCO) program on the appraisal and conservation
of Modern Heritage, where he participates as invited specialist. He is partner
of the firm Báez-Carena-Grementieri, specialized in appraisal, conservation,
and renovation of architectural heritage who was in charge of management,
design and construction projects for public and private institutions such
as the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the National Academy of Tango,
the Alvear Palace Hotel, the U.S. Department of State, the Brazilian Embassy
in Buenos Aires, the Getty Grant Program, the World Monuments Fund and the
Villa Ocampo Project (UNESCO). |
